Drottnar - Monolith I

Postby CanadianMetalFan » Mon Nov 06, 2017 0:13

Hello friends! Has anyone heard the new Drottnar EP Monolith I? After the first few spins I really enjoy it! Less chaotic and more focused I find than previous Drottnar material. The vocals really grab at me, definitely improved from previous releases. I would have to say my favourite track is "Aphelion". I'm really looking forward to whenever the full-length sees the light of day. And we finally have more Serpent's Breath to listen to! Will we ever get a full-length?

The new EP is awesome - I think I like Funeral of Funerals best, but all three tracks are great and it gets me really pumped for the full album.

It's fantastic. Sven-Erik is out of the band so Karl Fredrik has taken over the vocals. Bengt has also left, they are a three piece now.

Glad you guys like it.
I think the full album features some of their finest songwriting to this day.

It's a great EP overall, but I really dig funeral of funerals!

Finally got a chance to listen to Monolith I and II. Both are fantastic! The sound is definitely a bit of a departure from Welterwerk and Stratum (which sounded just like one extended album), but I love the new structured, slightly more melodic sound they've got going. It even reminds me a bit of Anamorphosis-era Drottnar.
