Time for another prog-metal thread

Farlig-K, this is for you;

I have been digging Borealis lately! If you have not checked these guys out listen to this.
Might be closer to melodic metal with proggy elements than straight prog metal, but its still great IMO.

Vocals reminds me of Jacob Hansen, which IMO is VERY good:

Not what I usually go for but there is something about this release:

If I ruled the world, programming drums would be illegal.

Right, so enjoying both Ghost Ship Octavius and Lost in Though. Borealis isn't really doing it for me though...

Also: NEW SYMPHONY X ALBUM IS OUT TODAY!!! I'm also stoked for the upcoming Teramaze album. I enjoyed "Esoteric Symbolism" immensely. It's a toss-up between that and Anubis Gate's "Horizons" as to which I list to more...

Going to listen to Teramaze right away, should have done so a long time ago. Thanks for reminding me!

Farlig, you have to give the new Pyramaze album a chance. Henrik Fevre of Anubis Gate wrote vocal melodies for four of the songs and all the lyrics for the entire album.

This album is growing on me!

I'll give it a bit of a listen.

On topic: you HAVE to listen to the new Teramaze and Waken Eyes albums. Both are incredibly good and they're pretty much all I've been listening to (on repeat) for the last week or so.

I do like new Teramaze vocalist so Im most def going to give that one a couple of spins. Waken Eyes is incredible! Henrik is one of my all time favorite vocalists

I just had to write down this thought as I play through the Waken Eyes album:
I so appreciate that most prog-metal bands see the importance of a well mixed and produced album. So much good music is ruined by horrible production. Just a couple of examples from the top of my head:
Cage - Supremacy of Steel (LOVE this band but cant stand listening through a single song as the sound abuses my ears). Their newest album kicks bum though!
Once Dead - Visions of Hell (one of the worst sounding albums I have ever listened to)
