Best bands?

Postby atleonar » Sun Oct 23, 2011 13:42

I like black metal, and also shredders and good old melodic metal, so I was not disappointed this year. The highlights for me were:
Enshrouding - I was curious to see them live, and they really lived up to my expectations.
Golden Resurrection - Tommy knows how to play the guitar!
Whitecross - Great to see them live after listening to their music for so many years.
Crimson Moonlight - Very intense and powerful.

Lengsel for giving me a fantastic flashback to the great DP era, and a very fine show, with a lot of feeling to it.
Living sacrifice for a huge flashback to seaside 13 yeas ago, a great time of summer, friendship, love and all that is good.
( And of course a kickass energy-bomb show)
AHTDU for beeing a truly great band. Delivering metal with such power...... (extra bonus for beeing awesome dudz)
And of course, last but absolutely not least, Enshrouding for beeing a very very nice surprise. Great material and fine show.
Knight of coffee and prince of doom. And of course the royal destroyer of anything winged.

I wanna move to Theory. Everything works in Theory

Lengsel - for they all over "production" and because I was listening a lot to Solace many years ago (2002/03) in an area of intence programming. So the sound was kind of in my vains....
Reinxeed - what a voice ...
Whitecross - thight , professional and lot's of flashbacks from old times. (CRED ! to Thomas who deliverd awesome PA/MIX sound...)
HB - very thight and professional

But I think the greatest is probably Crimson. Not so much for they brutal music (it's hard to listen to it several hours) - but as Pilgrim commented on facebook - they "liturgy". The whole package - Pilgrim really beleives in what he doing. The performance "smelled" that.....

Well.... strange to know that this was the last nordic. After many years with bobfest and nordic... it's over... very strange....

My definite number 1: Crimson Moonlight. Loved the material they played and the liturgy feel to the show made it even better
My number 2 picks in no particular order: Lengsel, Frosthardr, Enshrouding, A Hill To Die Upon

this. their set was so powerful, from a musical and spiritual standpoint.

In The Midst Of Lions surprised me, they were a lot tighter than when I saw them a couple of weeks ago, and HB were fun too.
so it begins...

The absolute best concert was without a doubt Lengsel! that was so insanely awesome!!
Crimson Moonlight at a very close second place. That too was utterly awesome!
Third place goes to Enshrouding! It was very cool to see most of Sawol play black metal :)

also a VERY nice surprise to see Frosthardr! that was GREAT! (also nice to hear some songs from the "new" album together with Ravn at the cave)

Whitecross was also one of my favorites! they did a great show!

I was a bit dissapointed with Living Sacrifice. I think they did better when i saw them at Cornerstone '09.

Ah, I've been waiting to hear about this... so, is it one of the Sawol dudes who did the Enshrouding EPs?
